For the fifth time, Mark David Chapman, who got worldwide notoriety for gunning down John Lennon outside the ex-Beatle’s Manhattan apartment in 1980, has been denied parole.
During Champan’s appearance last Tuesday, parole members stated in a one-page decision that although Champan had a clean disciplinary record since 1994, his release “would not be in the best interest of the community.”
Basically, he hasn’t been able to score a clean bill of freedom as he is still deemed “a threat to society.”
Which brings to mind the influence of J.D. Salinger’s 1951 novel “Catcher in the Rye”. Chapman admitted to have carried it with him soon after the shooting. John Hinckley Jr., who attempted to assasinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was reported to had been obsessed with the book. So was Robert John Bardo, when he killed Roberta Schaeffer in her apartment in 1989. How about Winona Ryder, who, during that forgettable shopping incident, reportedly had a copy her “favorite book” during the time time of her arrest in 2001?
Maybe if he swore before the court that he’s done associating himself with the book and he had forgotten every page of it, then maybe he’s got a chance to get out of the joint.
You think he’s already done time and it’s time for him to be a normal John Doe again, or 27 years behind bars is still not enough to realize what he’s done? Oh, Chapman’s next appearance to the board will be scheduled for August, 2010.

Let this Fucker ROT! Yes, I still think he is a threat to society and to Mr. Lennons’ family. This is not only a brutal crime-He shot the wrong man. I’ve read his statements that were released in the past few years and I still don’t think the jerk has enough remorse for this horrific murder!
If it were up to me as an individual… he wouldn’t be getting Conjugal visit’s However, that is just my own opinion…I’m an angry fan. He knew he would be imprisoned and what he did when he did it. Let him have what knew he was going to get. Throw away the key.
That is my quit two-bit Screw this guy!

Good Lord, show a little humanity - you spitefull yanks. America typically let’s its murderers out after 10-12 yeqars at most. Some of them like O.J Simpson need serve nothing at all. He killed, once only - it should not be a higher sentence simply because it was a celebrity he killed,(I might argue it should be a smaller sentence) - 29 years is a very long time. Let him out.

Dude he kill John Lennon. Imagine if he was still alive and there was no Mark David butthole Chapman. The guy is insane you know what that is right? Attention is not something anyone should kill for. I’ll show humanity when he shows hes a human not throwing his shit at guard like a rabid ape. Mr. Lennon at least deserved a chance not some surprise attack from the back by a coward who wanted to feed off someones fame it could have been any famous person. this man is lucky hes not free fuck him. he’d kill you if meant him having any recognition but your not shit worth killing. think of your humanity as someone shooting you dead lets see where humanity gets you

I say cut him free. He won’t make it 24 hours on the outside without someone getting revenge on him. HE won’t be a burden to the taxpayers anymore!

He should get a harder sentence as an simple murder for killing a celebrity.
I mean we all know that famous people are better people than normal people, so killing them is simply morally worse than killing avarage folks!
They should frie him a life like they do in the south, with niggas who killed white people!

Capital punishment would have been made an easy escape… Let him rot, Throw away the key. Celebrity or no celebrity John Lennon was still a father, An husband a friend to many a man whos music and being was idolised by millions.
The only one saving grace I feel is if Mark David Chapman ever does get released he wont survive a full week on the grounds of freedom!
